Muri Gries Pinot Grigio Doc

The cosmopolitan. Pinot Grigio is the most cultivated variety in Alto Adige and here it takes on rather decisive traits. An eclectic wine that goes well with pasta with tomato sauce, vegetable lasagna, vegetable soup, pumpkin cream and fresh cheeses such as goat cheese.

In the vineyard
This white wine of great expressiveness, matures in the vineyards of Bolzano and Appiano at an altitude between 260 and 500 m mainly on calcareous and alluvial soils.
In the basement
After a week of fermentation at a controlled temperature of 19°C in stainless steel, the wine ages in stainless steel

Nose: Heady bouquet reminiscent of fresh fruit, ripe Williams pears, black tea and herbs including mint and lemon balm as well as light notes of butter and hazelnut
Palate: powerful, structured and full-bodied, with a persistent and slightly bitter finish
Alcohol content: 13.50% vol.
Total acidity: 5.90 g/l
Residual sugars: 1.80 g/l

The tasting notes

The Muri Gries Pinot Grigio Doc 2018 is straw yellow with greenish reflections. The intoxicating bouquet refers to fresh fruit, ripe Williams pears, black tea and aromatic herbs including mint and lemon balm. A spicy wine with light notes of butter and hazelnut. On the palate it is powerful, structured and full-bodied, with a persistent and slightly bitter finish. To be served chilled in combination with vegetable lasagna, pumpkin soup and fresh goat cheese. It is best expressed if drunk within 3 years.
